East Boulder County United

East Boulder County United and the Colorado Community Rights Network share the mission to advance community rights within the legal system and build political support towards that goal.

About

East Boulder County United and the Colorado Community Rights Network share the mission with the primary focus to educate people and communities about local, community self-governance and community rights; secure the inalienable rights of all people, communities, and ecosystems through local self-governance; assert community rights to empower and liberate communities from state preemption and corporate harm; and advance those efforts toward state and federal constitutional change.

EBCU gathered signatures and got the first Community Bill of Rights and Obligations in Colorado on the Lafayette municipal ballot in 2013.  Voters approved the measure.  https://library.municode.com/co/lafayette/codes/code_of_ordinances?nodeId=CH_CHIIMUPO_S2.3COBIRIOBHEPRTHRIPRNAGAOIEX.

They also organized public support for the Lafayette Climate Bill of Rights ordinance passed by City Council in 2017 to ban fracking and related activities within Lafayette.  They continue their activism to help the Lafayette City Council to enforce this ordinance.
